Biography

1934
Born in Moscow
1949
Entered an art school situated opposite State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, sculpture class
1953–60
Studied at the Department of Monumental and Decorative Sculpture at the Moscow Stroganov Academy
1960
Worked as the state employee at the Office of Design of the Future Palace of Soviets and as Artist-in-Chief at the Moscow Polytechnic Museum
From 1960
Rented a studio at Nizhnaya Maslovka and worked on different projects (children’s playground for a resort hotel in Gelendzhik, entry hall and ticket office for the new theatre in Tula, palace of marriages in Crimea, etc.)
Since 1968
Member of Moscow Union of Artists
1978–80
Produced a large work for the Moscow Physicians Re-Training Institute
1980’s
Produced series of architectural reliefs
Second place in the competition for a monument to V. Vysotsky
Designed a wooden wall for the Philharmonic Hall in Ryazan
Began to work in colour, fascination by a kitchen stool
Designed a monument for Soviet prisoners of war, who died and were buried at the concentration camp cemetery in Ebensee, Austria
1991
New studio in Sokolniki district, Moscow
New direction: painting and graphic, continued designing colour sculptures
1997
Designed an installation of the steel cross – a monument in the town of Dmitrov to the prisoners who perished during Steel the construction of the Moscow-Volga Canal
2001
A monument for the grave of Nikolay Andronov at the Vvedenskoe Cemetery in Moscow
2002
Creation of the wooden bas-relief at the Moscow International Music Center
2003
Sculptural design for the facade of the new Pyotr Fomenko Theatre
Golden Mean prize of the Moscow Architects Union
2006
Master award, M’Ars Centre for Contemporary Art, Moscow
2009
Culture Prize from the government of Russian Federation Khrustalny Daedal – highest architecture prize of Russia
